Tips lead naturally to the question of where to place a bet, and in New Zealand the reply is brief. Only one provider may lawfully take the wager, so a table of rival bookies has nothing to compare.

The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) draws attention to what can go wrong offshore: thin consumer safeguards in the operator’s home jurisdiction, unspent credits that may not come back and large wins that may not be paid. New Zealand has not blocked such sites; the legal burden falls on the operator.
